Another possibility is to use one of those retractable keyboard trays.

(Although I found those drawers too flimsy, so I built a console/desk/bench
with a recessed monitor and keyboard to keep those nasty non-radio things
off the top).

Simple fix, Jim:  Pull the desk a few more inches out from the wall.  Push
the FT1k back to where the rear feet are at or near the back desktop edge.

The radio is all important.  You MUST adapt to it; not it to you.
