[TRLog] serial port usage?

Paul,

I have done this with a HP 200LX palmtop. I needed a specially compiled
version of TR for the 8086-equivalent processor in the 200LX. It
worked--sorta!

Performance was very sloooowwww. CW keying was choppy. Couldn't figure out
how to disable the 200LX's internal housekeeping which stole clock cycles,
ala Windoze.

Did it for only one trip. Now carry a regular laptop for logging. As they
say, "YMMV".

Please recognize that the problems I experienced were due to the hardware
limitations of the 200LX. If you are running one of the bigger palmtops like
a Libretto, etc., I'm sure you'll experience no difficulties.

Subject: [TRLog] serial port usage?

Has anyone successfully used one serial port to do both rig
control and keying? I have a small palmtop that only has one port
as would like to know if it is feasible before I build the
adapters.
