Pete,
I can't answer your monitor question, but for others reading the mail, I'd
like to put in a BEWARE notice on another product: the Creative Labs
digital audio card XGAMER. It's quiet when used in analog mode, but if you
dare connect the cabling for digital audio, it lights up HF at about an S9
level on 40 meters. The FT1000MP noise blankers don't touch it, either.
How they got it by the radiation standards, I don't know.
Whenever I operate I must disable the digital audio - this on a computer
about 20 ft away.

Gary W2CS

|
| I've finally concluded that my 8 year old, relatively quiet CTX
| monitor has
| to go -- its color rendition and even rendition of shapes (circles are now
| ovals) is so bad that it's useless for anything other than logging.
|
| I've been through the archives, and there are a number of specific
| recommendations. Unfortunately, if the messages are more than a year old
| -- in some cases less -- the monitors named are no longer current models.
|
| Has anyone bought a 15" Super VGA non-LCD monitor *recently* that they've
| found to be RF-quiet at HF? I need a 15-incher because of the
| shack layout.
|
| Thanks in advance.
