Say if that you are using 2 radios in the 2 radio mode for a multi-mode
contest. Say that Radio A is on CW and Radio B is on CW. By 'alt-D'ing a
station on Radio B, hitting the space bar to dump your call on Radio B, a
short cq is sent on Radio A (programmed in alt-p, C, alt-f3), while the
exchange is being received on Radio B, and after you log the exchange you
hit return to send your exchange on Radio B, immediately after the exchange
is sent, Radio A starts up a cq, all fine. But if Radio A is on SSB and
Radio B is on CW, immediately after dumping your call on Radio B, Radio A's
PTT is engaged (nothing transmitted) because it is trying to send that short
CW exchange (in the SSB mode). Do I have something programmed wrong here?

Also if Radio A is on SSB and Radio B is on CW, and under the same scenario,
what do you do to get a very short ssb cq on Radio A while you are receiving
the CW exchange on Radio B?
