Good night everybody,
I was just going to write a warning that my January 1999 UBA trickery
( http://lists.contesting.com/_trlog/199901/0108.html , also as uba.zip
somewhere on Soro Roberto pages at http://www.qsl.net/i2wij )
does not count ON prefixes for multipliers, when I received a mail from
Bob VE3KZ:
> I wonder if you have any ideas about how to get those Belgian prefixes
> counted for multipliers? That would be perfect!
It can be done!
1. Edit the continent field for Belgium (ON etc) in the special UBA Contest
cty.dat to be SA: (South America).
2. Add
PREFIX MULTIPLIER = SOUTH AMERICAN PREFIXES
to LOGCFG.DAT (or UBA.CFG).
WARNING! Don't copy the UBA-specific cty.dat to the TRLog directory over the
regular one, or you will have trouble in a coming major test.
With these additions to the 1999 tricks TRLog counts European Union
countries and Belgian prefixes as Prefix Multipliers (or so it says in the
TOTAL WINDOW)
leaving DX Multipliers all zeros. The total score in the upper left corner
is correct.
DISCLAIMER: not too carefully tested.
This said, it seems to me: the machinery needed to correctly log and score
UBA Contest already exists in the program, and Tree could perhaps make the
missing links to add UBA to supported contests.
In case anybody needs, I can mail you the hacked cty.dat.
