Hello All
Another running of the "BERU" using TRLog is now past. I've had some
correspondence with a few VE's on this subject. This year I did something a
little different. Below you will see the bare bones CFG file I used. You
have to add the exchange info. The objective was pick up the bonus points on
the run and to have running scores.
MY CALL = VE3XXX
CONTEST = CQ WPX
DISPLAY MODE = COLOR
CONTEST NAME = COMMONWEALTH CONTEST
EXCHANGE RECEIVED = RST QSO NUMBER AND POSSIBLE DOMESTIC QTH
QSO POINTS DX CW = 5
QSO POINTS DOMESTIC CW = 25
DX MULTIPLIER = NONE
DOMESTIC MULTIPLIER = NONE
COLUMN DUPESHEET ENABLE = TRUE
VISIBLE DUPESHEET = TRUE
The selected contest is relatively unimportant since there are no
multipliers.
Line 5 allows the bonus points to appear upon input by the operator.
With each QSO a prefix such as G, 5B, VE1, (or HQ) etc must be typed along
with the received serial number if this is the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd QSO. I was
reluctant to try this other years but it worked very well and when the
contest was over, the log was ready to go! Out of 500 QSO's I miscued only 6
times and had to go immediately into the edit mode to add a bonus prefix and
extra points.
The visible column dupesheet is an operating aid to help keep track of
bonuses.
You can use the normal CTY file. It would be nice to not allow non-BERU to
be logged. In this version, you have to keep your own wits about you.
Now, if Tree can make it just a little easier, ;-) Hope this might be of
use to some of you. Any further improvements would be appreciated.
