[Trlog] Radio Control using USB serial port adapter / or new interface

I am been a happy user of TR log in a limited sense: logging and cw keying
via Serial port 1 on my laptop. I am running W98SE and use a shortcut on my
desktop to start TR log. My radio is a Knwd 570D -G.

I would like to use my Belkin F5U103 USB to serial adapter for radio
control. However, to use this for radio control, I need to reboot the
laptop and hit F8 to get to a menu that allows me to boot in DOS. Then the
Belkin will function (via its DOS box setup) and will handle radio control
via TR log. BUT, I have never been able to get TR log to set CW messages
(via f keys) when I enter DOS in this way. I can only send CW using the
shortcut, and then the Belkin quits (lights go out) as the laptop goes into
DOS.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can transmit CW from serial port 1
(non-Belkin) when I boot in DOS? I looked for a schematic for a radio
control but found none. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks
Cal
