[Trlog] On-Timer

Reading N6ZZ's comments reminded me to ask about this on TRLog reflector:
Is it possible to include a timer to display the current ON-time in a
contest?
The timer could be based on exiting the program and re-entering it (maybe
even tell the op if he/she is good to go -- the proscribed off-time duration
has been reached), just not having any entries made for the minimum off-time
duration, typing "off" in the callsign field, etc.
During SS and other on-time-limited contests, I've found myself, in spite of
numerous calculations performed during on-times, running short or running
long on time.
If the TRLog software could track the on-time looking for the very same
things that the log checking software looks for to ascertain operating time
and display it in realtime, that would be great.

N6ZZ's January 2002 NAQP CW Logging Accuracy message on the CQ Contest
reflector:
A few weeks ago, K6LL posted some statistical information regarding
logging accuracy in the Jan. 2002 NAQP. The details were as follows:
Call -----Claimed Data----- Final % Reduction
N2IC 1227 290 355,830 353,220 0.73%
N2NL 1209 290 350,610 340,170 2.98%
W4PA 1145 288 329,760 321,488 2.51%
N9RV 1118 291 325,338 321,610 1.15%
W6EEN 1080 295 318,600 315,268 1.05%
K6LL 1107 264 292,248 286,578 1.94%
K3MM 987 287 283,269 280,973 0.81%
W9RE 962 292 279,444 274,050 1.93%
K5RC 1076 255 274,380 265,608 3.20%
K0EJ 1019 266 271,054 267,650 1.26%
N6ZZ 983 266 261,478 238,170 8.91% <---
W7CT 1031 247 252,681 250,920 0.70%
I was astonished to see that my score reduction was 8.91%. I finally
got around to checking my log, and thought that others might be
interested in what I found. I discovered that one of the 4 thirty
minute breaks that I took was actually only 29 minutes. Therefore, it
wasn't counted as a break.
The log checking software determined that at 0430Z, I had used up all 10
hours of operating time permitted in the NAQP. Consequently, all
contacts (and multipliers) made between 0430Z and 0500Z were deleted
from my final score.
You can bet that I'll be checking break times a little more carefully in
the future!
