You need the DOS version of the mixer to unmute the microphone or line-in. I
had the same difficulty on my ThinkPad...worse because is was that dreaded
MWave sound card. Anyway you need a mixer and/or the DOS driver. I think this
link will get close.

>I'm trying to use W9CF's software version 1.03 to integrate my sound card with TRLog. Machine is a 486 DX2, 50Mhz. 32 Meg RAM. Sound card a Crystal Asonic Pro supposedly soundblaster compatible. TRLog version 6.71 special small edition, running under DOS only. Have stacks set to 18,512 in config.sys file.

>Have gone through all of W9CF's installation directions as best I understand them and reached the stage where pressing F10 does indeed give me the Hal message from 2001. Pressing CTRL-F1 to record a message shows on TRLog that DVP is recording. Pressing F1 to playback the message gives a few seconds of noise with the odd click or so; but no audio. The time length of the playback noise seems the same time length of the message I'm trying to record.

>All of this is being done on the PC with no connection to the radio. If I exit TRLog and restart windows, and then open the sound card window I can record and playback a message with no difficulty. It's the interface with TRLog that seems to be the problem.
