[Trlog] Getting back on the air

TR doesn't work well with Windows NT, 2000, and XP, because of the way these
operating systems rule hardware calls with an iron fist. The biggest
problem is with CW timing.
But there are some workarounds. I created a small FAT partition on my XP
laptop and loaded some Windows 98 files and TR onto it. I didn't actually
run the W98 installation, just copied a few files. Essentially, these are
the files that get installed into the C:\windows\command directory. You'll
want to include at least EDIT.COM, EMM386.EXE, MEM.EXE, and SMARTDRV.EXE. I
then created a Windows 98 startup diskette. I boot to this floppy and see
the FAT/98 partition as the C drive. TR runs fine.

Subject: [Trlog] Getting back on the air
I am hoping for a bit of guidance.
I have been QRT now for a number of years and would like to get back into
the contesting scene. I have a few questions that I hope the users here can
answer.
1. Is TRlog functional with Windows XP?
2. What are most people using for DVP now that most of the computers do not
have ISA slots?
Any other hints and suggestions greatly appreciated.
