[Trlog] using ICOMs with TRlog

I am changing from Kenwoods to Icoms this year.  Could some Icom users (PRO
series) give me the 30-second version of what I need to know about
interfacing the radios to the TRlog system?

Mostly I need to know if you can cheat the $100+ computer interface that
ICOM sells with a $3 cable like you can do with the Kenwoods.  If YES, then
what's the circuit?  I don't even know what kinds of connectors these radios
have on them yet, not do I have manuals.
