Hi Paul: 

Another option is to create a bootable CD which will work on 
most reasonably modern BIOS's (probably since 1998 or so). 

You can do this starting with a floppy disk image. 

I wrote up a procedure a few years ago which you can find at 
http://www.k1ea.com/hints/Creating_a_Bootable_DOS_CD_V%201.5.pdf 

It's a bit tricky the first time but the overall method is to get a floppy 
disk image (a file) and use ISOLINUX and MEMDISK to create the 
bootable CD.

I'm not sure that if will do what you need, boot from a floppy, but one 
possibility is to get a floppy drive with a USB connection. I bought one a 
few years ago to help in just this kind of situation. I only have to use is 
a few times a year, but it pays off... They are pretty cheap from eBay or 
other (Tiger?) sources, I think.
