Comments.
Never tried this one before apart from handing out qso's etc.
I bust 2 fingers on my right hand Tuesday at work, so changing antennas was
out the question this weekend, so a 40m mult hunt weekend is was.
Conditions really seemed dreadful at the start, very high noise floor and
heavy crashes made for difficult listening.
I worked 40 when I could during the darkness hours and visited 15
sporadically
during the afternoon to grab any QTC's I could from who ever could hear me.

I was a little wet behind the ears concerning QTC's. I knew the format, but
got threw the first time someone send my them with cut times.
1800 xx1xx 001
01 xx2xx 005
03 xx3xx 007 . . . etc.
But no problem once I knew the drill.
QTC's are wonderful idea, why on earth have they not been introduced into
more contests?

Despite the lousy conditions there were some impressive signals from the DX
on 40.
ZS4TX has be the loudest signal I've ever heard out of ZS.
9K9K was almost 40 over 9 at one point.
Some of the JA lads were very loud even as early as 1900-1930, but were
unworkable. They peaked an hour or so later here and were a lot easier to
work by then.
ZC4DW had an insane pileup, but it was too early here for me to compete with
the eastern Eu's. So I missed that mult.
Other easy mults I missed were, EA8, VE1.
CQ'ing was really really slow going. I had worked my layer of NA stations
the first morning so a great deal of time was spent chasing mults and QTC's.

If the RSGB are looking for ideas for a new contest please include the QTC's
concept. Its simple and superb.

I noticed on the WAE web site.
-"Stations who activate a WAE country for the WAEDC from where no log was
received over the last three years will receive a special plaque."-
Then it lists the countries.
If it isn't already, this should be applied to IOTA for a new island. It's a
nice idea.

Writelog worked well. Although it's recently for some crazy reason, changed
the 'enter sends xchange/qrz' feature which has turned it back into a
dinasour as it has no buffer in the call field whilst sending exchanges. I
had to revert back to using insert and + for normal operation.

WAE - what a breath of fresh air.
Next stop SARTG WW RTTY Contest.

Any DX or /G's who are interested in a sound clip and we worked let me know.

Tim-M0BEW.
