Perhaps, in my past messages I did not make myself clear:

I believe that "we might capture the new generation of M3s and turn them
into contesters" if we were to remove the unbalance between the number of CW
contests and the number of SSB contests.

In support of that suggestion to "capture the new generation of M3s and turn
them into contesters" I put forward the following

1.   The last time I looked at the HF Championships it appeared possible to
win if you only entered CW contests but the reverse was not true.

2.   With the reduction of CW speed associated with new licensing and
recalling the nightmare I had (in the dark ages) to get from 8 to 12 wpm,
for the new guys the current CW contests where hardly anyone sends below
12wpm must be a big turn off.
