Hi Stewart
Didn't hear you at all thought it strange hrd only JKS from North of the
border..
My token gesture (no more) was 3-short stints as was really checking
receivers..
Friday Evening 2200>2235 6-QSO's plus bonus of YI9OM caught while tuning
around.
Saturday AM 0741>0811 10-QSO's
Sunday AM 0741>0758 6-QSO's hrd most others previously wkd
22Q 18 Sections didn't stop long enough to work either N4BP or NZ1E both
preoccupied with USA and VE. Call twice no joy move on..wkd both K0HA (NE)
and W1SJ (VT).
Jeff VY2ZM was audible here from about 1930z Saturday and the first USA W2GD
NO2R about 60-mins later. Jeff was way over S9 later 22z ish then dropped
right down at 2330 when I checked him again. Nice to find VE2RA and VE3EJ.
Don't have luxury of Beverages so content with my 90ft top and base loaded
vertical. At present more base than top as checking out wind loading when
using top wires. Don't think it is as good as previous when almost all top
loaded. Also have a dipole at 60ft in the clear and no bends but this
weekend all signals much better on vertical. CQ WW CW the reverse was often
true even on long haul. The Vertical has 8-raised radials (up 20ft) and
below it a ground screen of some 16000 ft of wire (240 80m radials and 16
160m) all crossing wires are bus-bar terminated.
That's my story Stewart so hope we have one or two others...
On the other topic don't think we need to replace the HFCC more a dare I say
communication problem in my view..for what it is worth.
73 John
