I have never tried the sprints but would agree with Clive re WAE. It has good support from outside europe, it rewards dx contacts with extra points, it rewards both mult hunting and accuracy, AND you only have to do a max of 36 hours as a single op - which helps mere mortals like me that need their beauty sleep! The certificates and results certificates are excellent too So lets speak with the organisers and put our weight behind an already successful European contest. As for BERU, if we have to keep that as a compromise for supporting WAE then I am prepared to give that my vote too - I have actually enjoyed BERU when I have taken part in recent years - mainly because it is more relaxed and yet still requires skill in hunting out the mults.
Hows that for a compromise? or are we all still too afraid to go beyond our annual outing accross the channel to buy our european partner's superior wines and beers ;-)

Absolutely correct. If we can't hack it ourselves, let's support those who
have proved that they can, as above. I would love to think that this could
work, but fear that it might not, in view of our famed antipathy towards
anything vaguely perceived as European. I would dearly like to be proved wrong
in this regard.
