There is an award based on postcodes, but I am not at all surprised that it
is not widely known. It is run by the Civil Service Amateur Radio Society.
Although it is still running, it has not been publicised for quite some
time. I can provide details for anyone interested. But there are
essentially a series of bronze, silver and gold awards, based on the number
of postcode areas worked. The club station (G3CSR) counts as a wildcard.
Collecting postcodes is certainly not as popular as chasing WAB squares. I
agree with those comments on here about the number of requests, particularly
from Germany, for the WAB square during contests. I am sure that there
would be some mileage in promoting a contest based on WAB squares.
