Hi Guys
Copied this from W3LPL's score report on the 3830 reflector, it is a count
of the number of QSOs his station made with each country in the ARRL phone
contest. There's very nearly as many QSOs with G as with DL, and no other
Eu country comes close. If you add the other UK countries (after all this is
the UK contest reflector) we're well ahead.
So, why are there always tons more entries from DL, EA, I, SP, OK etc. in the
major contests? Perhaps we have a large number of casuals who don't mind handing
out the odd QSO to some of the big stations but don't see themselves as competing
in the contest. Is there some scope here for getting them to step up the ladder
a bit?
Sometimes, reading stuff on this reflector you would get the impression that
UK contesting is in trouble. Looking at Frank's numbers you'd come to a different
conclusion.
