[UK-CONTEST] IOTA Contest Certificate

Chris,
I would echo your comments on the hard efforts put in by the many volunteers and adjudicators of the IOTA and other contests in the calendar.
It sounds like you have already done the hard work in coming up with a better design. Maybe it just needs a suitable rocket putting under the ar*e of whichever paid official is sitting on it? Do you still have a copy you could re send to them?
I would be happy to attempt a simple replacement design if yours has been lost in the vaults (maybe an agm resolution to relocate the RSGB HQ to the centre of the country - Nottingham?! - would prompt a rapid search for the lost document?). A decent scanned image of the RSGB and IOTA logos would be all I would need to make a stab at it. Mind you, a simple border around the current design combined with a better quality sheet of card, would be a vastly improved quick fix on the current one.

Have to say I have some sympathy with Steve's comment. I also received
certificates (one for each op) for the GU8D effort for which I am most
grateful, but was disappointed to see it was again the standard RSGB HFCC
certificate.
The design was originally to replace an old design used for domestic RSGB
contests and was the most suitable image around at that time without
invoking copyright. On reflection, the background colour was too insepid but
no one has yet volunteered
to take the job on to re-design it. (How about it Steve, I am sure HFCC
would be most appreciative?)
As regards certificates for the IOTA contest, Neville G3NUG and myself spent
some time designing a more dynamic one based on the IOTA Award scheme and I
am sure this would have lived up to your expectations Steve. Unfortunately,
and this is where share your frustration, the design appears to have got
lost at RSGB HQ.
It really is a great shame considering the effort and comittment by Don
G3XTT and his team of adjudicators and Dave G3NKC who actually produced the
data for HQ to print the certificates.
Is there not any chance of resurrecting our design or producing a new one?
This really is the Weakest Link.

My certificate for SO 12hour SSB arrived today too. Is it just me or is the
quality of these bits of paper going down hill? A photocopied (badly)
certificate on poor quality paper, which is about as inspiring as a used tea
bag! Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed the contest, but when you compare
this certificate with the ones i have had from DARC, ARRL, CQ etc it really
stands out as how not to do it. I know cost is an issue, but my wife, who
runs her own training business, can produce high quality certificates on a
simple HP850c at very low cost. 73
