Truly awful band conditions! Like some others, we wondered what was wrong

with our antenna as G3GRS/P apparently raced ahead! We confirmed they had

switched sections when we finally asked them!

This was the first use of Writelog in this contest. It's the first time

we've seen networked logs that keep in sync, having used CT, TR & NA

through the years.

Given that we lost out to G3GRS/P only on mults last year, this is the

area we tried to improve on this year, which saw us use the DXCluster for

the first time. It's difficult to assess the impact of our efforts owing

to the poor propagation conditions. We'll have to wait and see how we fared

against others.

Our antenna is biassed to HF operation rather than LF operation. This has

worked well in the past, giving us the ability to mop up the JA's on 15m.

This time out 15m was very poor, conditions generally forcing people to

the LF bands much more just to get the Q-rate up. The 20m double extended

zepps used by G0SOA/P & M5ARC/P were probably the better choice this time.
