I will probably be only doing a casual attempt in BERU. This is
perhaps one of the contests which does need a careful review. Whereas
it is an ideal opportunity to QSO some of the rarer commonwealth
countries without having big pileups of Europeans, for the lesser
equipped stations it is not possible to get a good score. To do so
needs run capability for VK/ZL and VE, which with my current QRP
setup is unlikely. Particularly as conditions to the pacific have
hardly been spectacular recently... So I shall take a look in, but
that is probably about it.
However I was quite encouraged to see my ARRL QRP scores seems very
competitive with the LP/HP boys... Perhaps I did more hours than
most on here, but it was by no means an all out attempt. I
specifically did not do the overnight periods as I knew I was not
competitive on the lf bands, and I was out Sunday morning and early
afternoon. But that did leave quite a few hours.
