[UK-CONTEST] Cabrillo - let's not make life difficult

I welcome anything that makes contest log checking easier for the
volunteers who add pleasure to our hobby, but ........

There was much discussion on this reflector at the end of last year about
declining contest entries and how to encourage 'casual' ops to send in
entries. Dumping a proprietary logging program's entry file into an e-mail
takes minutes and is easy - faffing around with excel conversions and
bouncing off cabrillo robots isn't. Many will not invest the time.

Was there any international dialogue between National Societies before
Cabrillo came into use? What are (for example) the Germans and the Russians
doing about it for their contests. Let's not make life more difficult for
the casual ops - either logging programs have to cope or the contest rules
have to fit cabrillo 'standards'.

From my professional experience, don't expect Americans to adhere to
'standards' or to be particularly considerate of the international scene.
