Bit of a funny weekend propagation wise, looking at the SFI before I left on Saturday I thought it was going to be a slow weekend but far from it.
A new location to test out, new antennas and equipment to use so I was prepared for a few things to go wrong. All the pre-contest setup went fine and the station was ready by about 11:30 on the Saturday.
Worked GB5HQ on all bands SSB apart from 160M as I didn't have an antenna. Very big signal on 80M, very loud all the time, on 40M they seemed more in the noise alot of the time. I guess the QRM levels are mich higher closer to the signal due to lack of space. Role on 2009!!

Comments:
Great fun, certainly conditions seemed better after about 12 hours into the
contest which made the second half very busy.
Equipment:
Kenwood TS-570DG
SB-200
Cushcraft A3S @ 40ft
Buternut HF9V ground mounted
40/80M dipoles.
Writelog 10.41B - performed excellent once again and not a single error all
weekend.
Thanks to all who called.
If anyone is interested I recorded all of the contest as .wav files, email me if
we had a qso and you want the audio file.
