[UK-CONTEST] rigs

Hi All,

I have just become QRV after a gap of 15 years - usual suspects -  building
a business, change of QTH, family etc.
I have been having fun with an FT817 for the past few months but will need
to buy a decent QRO rig in the next year or so.
Problem is, which one?
My primary interest is CW - DXing and contesting.
My last rig was a Drake B Line, which I still have, and I also have a
Kenwood TS830S which my brother GU4EON has just disposed of.
I have no particular affinity with any brand and I don't mind if the rig is
a current one or one I need to look for second-hand (I am in no particular
hurry).
Nor do I mind if it needs a third-party mod to be at its best.

So - which is currently the best CW rig out there?
