Just a quick reminder to all the UK folks that the deadline for
registrations for VHF NFD is approaching - we're looking for registrations
to be sent no later than Monday 30th June. The contest is the following
weekend of 5th / 6th July. If you really need to make changes to your
registration details after Monday, this can be done by contacting me before
the contest.

VHF NFD is a great opportunity for groups large and tiny (even 1 person!) to
go out, work some good stuff on the bands, and have a good social occasion
in the sunny British summer (ahem...). BBQs form a big part of many stations
and VHF NFD can provide a great summer event for clubs!

We're happy to see the whole spectrum of entries from big 4 band full-tilt
affairs down to low power 1 band entries. You have a choice of bands from
6m, 4m, 2m, 70cm and 23cm, a choice of power levels from 25W through 100W to
400W and a choice of entering restricted antenna sections, or the
anything-goes section. The Restricted & Low-Power sections are put together
the way that they are to make it reasonably easy for normal radio clubs to
compete - the Open Section is there for the serious contest groups.

There's a good history of 2m Sporadic-E on this weekend (I'd say 1 year in 2
roughly), and also a fair change of decent tropo conditions.

So - if you're at a loose end next weekend, who not think about going out in
VHF NFD and having some fun!

If you have any problems, or queries, please feel free to contact me.
