Hi Steve,

I seem to be getting good at missing people. I heard you at the start, but
after a few repeated attempts to get through to a few stations (some folk up
in the 30's before I'd reached 5 !) I moved to CW where it was much easier.

On SSB, I also missed Ron GM0NTL. I did work MM5AHO who was a great signal,
and my friend Darren M(W)5HOC/P, who woke me up from my pre-contest sleep to
let me know he'd got a dipole going from his campsite :-)

On CW there were the usual suspects... G4OGB, G0CKP, G3RSD, G3LIK, plus
G3OOK.

It was hard work calling CQ on 80 SSB. I called in bursts of around 5
minutes, until adjacent channels closed in around me and I stopped getting
any more QSOs.

Calling CQ did result in new Baltic stations being logged, which was fun.
With the points differential for them, it seems to be a contest where you
need to do perhaps an even amount of calling and searching. Some other
contests are remarkably weighted for one or the other - this seems to be a
good mix.

Don't forget to send in an entry - the LRSF have been sending out a results
booklet in recent years. They've also gone down the path of noting other
stations who took part in the country listing, but did not enter themselves,
so you can see the true level of participation. From this I can see that
GW4NJW took part last year :-)

Overall 241 QSO (151 CW / 90 SSB QSO, and 125/241 were Baltic)
About 1370 points +/- (still off the pace)
