[UK-CONTEST] Jamming

History repeats itself. PA4DX made my AFS SSB contest a miserable affair
last year, (and he continued afterwards to swear at me by e-mail too). The
SSTV guys really need to put their house in order. I moved then and he
followed me. I didn't hear him this year, but did stop to listen to the
funfair around 3732.
Anyway, this year was a bit more relaxed. I was busy so I only did 1hr
20mins in three stints and worked just under a hundred (96 I think), which
was fine. I had to repeat the serial number at least 3 times to all but very
few callers. I love it up here in the land of the S1 noise level. Strangely,
compared to the CW event, I found that signals were louder on the vertical
this weekend compared to the dipole. What's going on!?
>From memory, loudest sigs in the early afternoon were from G3NLY and G3SJJ.
There is a layer of signals which I can just never penetrate on SSB, which I
guess I could pull out on CW. I wonder if there were many who called me and
didn't get heard in spite of the quieter noise level.

Subject: [UK-CONTEST] Jamming
Hi All,
In reply to G4FON's message...I was deliberatly jammed by SSTV signals and a
DL who tried to tell me that 3730 - 3740 is not for SSB!. He then
proceeded to jam me for over an hour which invariably left me missing out on
some weak callers, I did QSY after a time only to have him follow me. I
didnt have any QRM from music, but after the contest heard a well known
contestor doing a bit of bad mouthing which really isnt on. This is only a
hobby lets not forget that chaps.
Just incase any of the SSTV gang read this here is the IARU Region 1 band
