Use about as much grease as Kenpro did. The trick is to take the mast 
clamps off, and keep turning the rotator body over so that gravity is 
always working *for* you!

I wrote an 'In Practice' about that, sometime around 1995...

BTW, there's a design problem with the KR-600, KR-400 and possibly the 
Yaesu successors: all the turning torque passes through a few piddling 
little screws that hold the gear plate to the inside of the body. 
Eventually these screws can work loose, so the whole plate moves around. 
While you're in there, it's a good idea to drill and tap the holes for a 
larger size, and screw the plate down tight using star washers and blue 
Loctite.
