Hello contesters,

After my serious efforts last year with a 60' high Inv-L and LP entry and discovering I had copped World 1st SOLP , I was really looking forward this year to having a bash with the big boys ! My antenna system had been altered to now be an 87' vertical Inv-L with the horizontal section at 300 deg. I also removed the 3 ele. beam from the tower. I've laid as many as radials as I can fit in for the moment, around 4500 feet of them. two switchable beverages 1--300 deg 1--180 deg.

However, after going out on Wednesday night for an Indian with work colleagues, I began feeling a little odd on Thursday. It was about 0200 on Friday morning when it hit me - food poisoining ! Friday was a washout for me and was at the docs in the afternoon. I spent the whole weekend in a daze and eat nothing for 36 hours. I am finally going back to work this afternoon after re-surfacing yesterday evening and wondering where the last 4 days have gone. Terrible !

During my well trodden route to the kazi, I would have a quick 5 mins on 160M before returning back to the horizontal position. So in summary, a total of 24 QSO's made ! I think I'll submit a checklog ! Denis FM5GU was first call, although I tried the OA4/ HI8 for a new one and never made it after a handful of calls. The antenna was only at 40 ft. I didn't have the energy to lift the tower anyway.

By far the strongest UK station heard here in GU was MD4K. I hope all who entered, enjoyed it. Good luck to all.

So all in all, very dissapointing, I was looking forward to this one. Maybe next year.
