Hi,

I meant to ask this earlier - what happens to the band plan during the
ssb contest on topband? I'm totally new to this, but noticed everyone
working everywhere , i.e. in the CW segment as well as above it, (in
fact _particularly_ in the CW segment), so I just joined in. Does the
band plan becomed suspended for SSB contests on 160?

Another observation, from last weekends CW contest. I had a go on 80
towards the end of the contest hoping to pick up some US stations. Most
of the ones I heard were being completely clobbered by loud Eu stations
in Run mode - mostly fruitlessly calling CQ. Hence it was well nay
impossible to find the US stations in all the QRM. Why don't they have
some kind of band plan for stations in Run mode, e.g. US stations run
from 3500 to 3530, Europeans Run from 3530 to 3560. So in contests
where the idea is for 'others' to work US stations and US stations to
work others those of us without Gwatt amplifiers stand a chance. I
wouldn't have minded so much if all the Eus I heard had been working
anyone but mostly they were just using electricity :-)

Cheers
