Hi
Being an ex Aberdonian/GM, you're suggestions sound very familiar to
me....but I think you will find they fall on deaf ears Andy :0)

Hi,

Decided I ought to start doing this 'properly' and for the first time
rigged up a hands free mike, a foot switch and used N1MM to do the
logging (When I last did ssb (vhf) contests they hadn't invented
computers never mind logging programs).

Good fun, worth doing again but noticably hard work being out 'on the
edge'. We seem to be noticing the daylight/night transition far more
now in GM as inter G signals improved considerably towards the end of
the contest, although it didn't seem to affect gm3poi as he was doing
loads better than me! Maybe it was because he was further away, some
French signals were much bigger in Dundee than the Gs, maybe G was just
at the worst skip point for me?

Anyway -could do better but not a bad start with 75 Qsos. How about
adding some country multipliers to give us outliers a bit of a help -
makes us more desirable. Or even how about adding locators into the
contest exchange and have a locator square multiplier? That would even
things out by removing some of the advantage you guys down south have
where you've got 80% of the G population within a hundred miles! (oh
and would make IO86 hot property :-)

Anyway tnx to the organisers, they're fun contests but any changes like
those above that make gm8oeg a more desirable station to work will
always be welcomed :-)
