Congratulations to Stewart GM4AFF on the 24 ssb single op win.
Also thanks to all involved in adjudicating and getting the results onto
the hfcc website - you have done an excellent job
I am glad that I was not the only one who thought conditions were poor
that weekend!
I am afraid that you won't see me competing in 2005, as the IOTA
Committee decided to delete Ynys Mon / Anglesey from the EU124 group
from 1/2/2005 for resident hams, so all the elderly and disabled
amateurs who live on the island will no longer be able to enjoy being a
rarish mult in this contest, and chased after dx th eres tof the year,
from now on - thanks to some anonymous, green eyed, sad person/s who
took it upon themselves to question Anglesey's island status five years
ago, and an unaccountable IOTA Committee whose Chairman at the time
squirmed and dug himself deeper and deeper into a hole when questioned
about who raised the issue. For my part, its not so much of a problem -
I am lucky to have a decent HP home station and there are plenty of well
organised international contests to chose from in the calendar, which
can replace the IOTA contest.
