And the point is .................... What exactly?
One would presume that the GB5HQ ops (I'm not one, so I don't have an axe to
grind) are selected from those who (a) volunteered and (b) have excellent HF
contesting skills (because we want the UK to win!).
So each of your former Class B, Foundation and Intermediate licence holders
needs to ask themselves:
(a) Did I volunteer?
(b) Do I have the necessary skills?
If the answer to both is "no" then it is indeed a bit rich .. of them!
By all means they should be developing the skills (by being QRV this
weekend, for example) - you don't get 'owt for n'owt in this world - a place
on an elite team needs to be earned (or does the "Pop Idol" culture change
all that ..)
Do understand Adrian, that you are purely the messenger, hi, but sounds as
though you need to take your club members in hand and tell them the facts of
life!
