[UK-CONTEST] EU 124.

You missing the point/s :
There is a dispute about whether it is 2m short of the distance or not -
it depends on where you take the measurements from - at the shortest
point, it could be 198m or 200m or 203m, depending on how you treat a
little island called pig island, upon which the first pillar of the
bridge stands.
Secondly, its the fact that such accurate measurements were taken on
this one island, and no other islands have been treated to the same
degree of scrutiny.
Thirdly, there was a total secrecy surrounding the decision, with the
Chairman of the IOTA Committee at the time digging himself further and
further into a hole when asked why the scrutiny was being applied - in
the end he had to be baled out by Don Beatie who was RSGB President at
the time. The alleged letter of complaint/s to the IOTA Committee
Chairman were never produced, was apparently destroyed, and we were told
that the minutes of the IOTA Committee were not to be made public.
Sounds fishy, looks fishy, stinks like hell.
Sorry I am boring you SJJ, I was not intending to get into a debate
about eu124, merely stating publicly that I would not be on the air in
the contest this year. No offence intended to the HFCC, just that I
won't support a contest based on an IOTA database which is built on
secrecy, inconsistency, and petty jealous politics.

Sorry to wade in. I don't think the problem lies with the bridge, it's
the distance. If it is 2m short of the 200m distance, it's short of the
200m distance surely? You're still on an IOTA!
Anyway, the IOTA committee are distanced from the IOTA contest, which is
HFCC, so you're achieving very little indeed. Welcome to humble old EU5.
Royce, M0RHI
By the way, I agree with SJJ :)
