I've not seen this recently, but G3WGV's 'Log' contesting program - perhaps 
15 years old now has an 'acquisition mode' in it, which does exactly this - 
it enters the call you send into the callsign field. It took a while 
getting used to it, but once you did - it was a lot of fun! One of those 
ideas that was perhaps a little before its' time!
