I agree, quite a faux-pas. And the front cover too? Yuck! Not quite the
right ethos?

Subject: [UK-CONTEST] Have I missed a contest?

Hullo UK-Contesters,

Opening the December 05 RadCom at the Contents page (p5) gave me a
surprise today. What! A new contest that I've missed? "p26 - VLF
National Field Day" reads the caption to a sunset-and-antennas photo. It
also says "VLF" twice in the text on the same page 5. So it's not a
simple typo in the photo-caption. More a simple lack of sub-editor
knowledge, perhaps?

Then at the other end of the same issue, there's another arguably odd
letter about contesting in bold in "The Last Word" section. Having just
put pay to the "GB5HQ deaf-as-a-post saga" [which was skillfully
countered and then squashed by Dave BUO's follow-up letter in RadCom],
it seems that things may be drifting off course again in the RadCom
(sub-)editorial office when it comes to contests.

Is it just me, or does the absence of a callsign against the top-slot in
RadCom's mast-head give cause for concern?
