Well after that I really feel like a 2nd class citizen. My last bash at this was when it was still 21 Mc only, with no WAG and excellent world interest.

Not only were there several times more DLs than Gs active on both bands but it was jolly hard to find anyone who's actually prepared to work you (apart from the said DLs of course!). When WAG eventually stopped with a few hours to go, virtually all the contest types had disappeared. Definitely time to call it a day on this one; the sheer embarassment of being a G is terminal. To cap it all, it appears that the DLs can actually work each other for points and collect DOKs, whereas we still have this hangup about doing the same.

Nevertheless, there were just about enough casual and non contest types plus a few old mates around to keep utter boredom at bay and conditions were much better than we have a right to expect at this stage of the cycle. There was at least some welcome ex-pat activity from CT, 5B, J6 and SV5. Highlight was being called by Dave VP8HJ, now masquerading as A6/G4CXH.

Ended up with 173/47 on 15 and 21/14 on 10, using tentec omni VI+ barefoot to BiggIR vertical with base at 25 ft, which falls nicely inside the restricted limit.

Chhers
