[UK-CONTEST] USB to parallel port converter?

Hi list

Does anyone know of a viable usb to parallel port converter? The best I can
find is a USB to centronics cable for connecting old printers to USB ports,
and they seem to work, so presumably could be rewired, but.....

There are plenty of usb to serial converters of course. Why would I need
such a thing? Well my logger outputs band data, radio 1 on LPT1 and radio 2
on LPT2. The DXdoubler hijacks LPT1 but kindly offers a feed though on its
back panel. My computer only has one LPT port, and it would be nice to avoid
fitting an extra PCI parallel port card internally to get LPT2.
Unfortunately the good folk at Kenwood didn't see fit to provide band data
on their radios :-((

I'd like to auto switch my ICE filters, and already have a pair of W9XT
decoder boards for that purpose, just need band data. I've lost count of how
many times that I have forgotten to switch the ICE filter, and thought that
the antenna had fallen down!

Thinks, I have a couple of spare COM ports. I don't suppose it's possible to
pretend that one of these is a parallel port by changing the address in the
software is it? After all I only need pins 2,7,8&9 of a DB25 connector.
