[UK-CONTEST] SSB Field Day '05

Think you got that wrong Jim. As I understand it, the spotter antenna and
filter/rf amp unit are up to 150m away from the operating position, with
control line back to the shack control unit and RG58 feed to the rx.

We tested the system at my QTH before using it at GU8D for the IOTA Contest,
but in this case it was "back to front" ie the spotter antenna and
filter/amp were on the garden lawn just below the shack window, with about
20m of feed cable. The main antenna system here is 100m away, but all
antennas and control cables feed back into the shack. JUST THE ONE STATION.

In-band multing on 20/15/10 was excellent, 80m was just about acceptable.
In-band multing on 40m would have required a far bigger separation than the
150m distance between my pair of phased verticals and the spotter antenna.

Hi Nick,

The problem is the additional spotting receiver and antennas are at a
separate station 150 yards away .. not the same station as the contest
is being operated from and thats how they worked the rules to their
advantage.
