Extreme CW Challenge

Although in principle I find the idea attractive, having regularly operated CW from VP8 in all weathers while sledging (B2, foot generator and strap-on key, etc.) I also query the organisation. The fact that no logs or even lists of stations contacted appear to be required questions the validity of the event as a "contest", which is how it is currently structured.  

I would entirely go along with it if promoted solely as a CW activity weekend, perhaps with a list of participants and their kit, etc. eventually posted somewhere.  This would go a long way to meeting Richard's point over the timing issue, as everyone would effectively participate by default, whatever their interest.  Having rules, including limiting hours, scoring points and rewarding winners, is surely only appropriate if there were to be some element of adjudication, which is clearly not the case here.
