As many might be aware the CE approved version of the IC746PRO is called the
IC7400. I believe that the difference is purely that the 7400 has extra
filtering on the 12v DC PSU lead. I am not sure which other territories use
which designation, but no matter.
I had a little whinge at the N1MM folk for not listing the 7400 and allowing
some non English speaking Eu ICOM users to fall through a hole in the
set-up of MM. It appears that US-centricity is to blame and that over there
, they simply are not aware what happens outside of their borders. I'm
pleased to say that I think the issue will be rectified quite soon, in the
usual co-operative N1MM spirit.
Of course I made a rod for my back, and have been asked if there are other
model variances. Certainly the 756 series and the 7800 seem to be the same
animals on paper, but I wonder if there are others that have escaped me?
Thus if you are aware of any other differences in model designation, I would
be grateful if you could draw these to my attention, so that N1MM might be
kept up to date.
