HRH,
Good idea, it would make things much easier and what we all want is an error free log.
May I also suggest that there should be a "DE" as in "CQ TEST DE GU0IDA TEST K".
The DE in MMTTY combined with WriteLog is used to determine that after DE is a callsign and so the callsign will get highlighted in green if not worked and red if already worked.
Although it is an extra two characters it is the correct way of doing things.
Other loggers work in the same way, therefor if you see a red you know it has been worked so you move on.
Sending a serial number 3 times is a good idea as you can compare any two correct numbers, this equals to less errors.
An exchange like "G8ABC 599 012 012 012 K" I would think be appropriate, what do you think?
Also sending your callsign 3 times would be a bonus too, again less room for error which is what we all strive for.
"G8ABC DE GU0IDA GU0IDA GU0IDA" so if you get, due to QRM or QRN "G8ABC DE GU0IDA GU-+D^ GU0IDA" you know it is GU0IDA it is the same with the serial numbers :-)
There is little space on the band for the RTTY section and a lot of QRM causing letters and digits to be misread, I think the above suggestions would go a long way.
GU0SUP and myself do a lot of RTTY contests and find these methods work well, I'm sure Phill can share some of his expertise on this matter.
Any comments are welcome?
All the best,
Berni
