The use of K when going back to a specific station has always been a bugbear
of mine - surely KN (sorry, this e-mail system doesn't allow me to put the
bar across the top!) is the correct procedure symbol? K is an invitation to
all comers (and therefore the correct way to end a CQ)?

We wouldn't use K on CW, and there's even less point in using it with 
RTTY because we can hear the carrier drop.
