Not at all Chris. I suspect the number of variables is almost limitless!  
Just look at the debate so far. However Dave has asked for our views  and no-one 
else has gone for the "keep it simple" approach so I thought I'd make  a pitch 
for it.
 
Simplicity isn't what we normally do at G6YB/EJ2MT but after  seeing several 
100 foot high antennas hit the ground last month  we could do with a 40 foot 
pole, a doublet and a rest instead!!!
