When we as Bracknell ARC won AFS in the early 1970s just after the
rules changed to their new format (but when we still had to send AFS
to identify as a club station) we did indeed have a full complement
of 5 entrants. In those days we had quite a few well known HF CW
operators in our midst and it was relatively easy to find the 5 or
more - and the average QSO numbers were way down as well. These days
not only has our club membership dropped significantly, but only a
few are active on HF and CW. We had 3 good ops on this year (after a
bit of arm twisting..) so the change as suggested would suit us very
nicely!
I suspect though we will have zero participants in the SSB leg (not
even a microphone here)..
