Nope, I've got a good one!
IMD3 requires TWO signals to produce the sprog., as detailed in the maths
below. If for you say, G3NKC is on 7010 and a.n.other is on 7015 with an
equally gignormous signal, you might hear "headless chickens" on 7005 and
7020. If this sounds familiar, reduce your front end gain, and the sprogs
will disappear quickly. If the offenders however are on 7010 and 7012, then
probably no roofing filter is going to help, and gain tailoring is
mandatory. Alternatively get an IC7800 or FT9000 :-0
The sig. you refer to is the LF part of an idling teletype, you can hear the
HF signal almost exactly 1khZ HF of that. The origin is probably closer to
NE than E, but my antenna is not that sharp to be honest. 10kW+ doing
nothing, so much for environmental awareness eh :-((
