[UK-CONTEST] football stations

Apropos the D*2006* stations: Yesterday was their last day. One of them 
mentioned on the air to have 27000 qsos in the log. Together, about 
850000. I am impressed by the scale of organization: imagine, 36 special 
event stations on the air... Maybe most of the operators were at home 
enjoying their arm-chair special event station ;-)

Anyhow, that award seemed to have worked very well. I heard so many DX 
stations calling CQ DL. And for 5 or 10 EUR for the award, there should be 
some money on the way into the DARC treasure chest.

For the operators, this was an enormous training for contesting, at least 
they were on the hot end of the pile-up most of the time. They even had an 
internal contest. 

I wonder if we (UK contesters/RSGB) could run a similar event during the 
olympics to come? If so, we should get started now.
