It happens not only in Contests but with 'run of the mill' QSO's

I have lost count now of how many German QSL's I have received where
'Station A' has made a valid contact but also enclosed is a card from
'Station B' claiming exactly the same QSO. I sent two back only
yesterday where 'Station B' had even claimed the same QSO number in a
contest.
