Chris

Try listening to the Eagles song: "Get Over It!"

The scoring system was carefully worked out by Dud, G6CJ and has been in
place for many years. It has yielded wins from places around the globe
as diverse as VP8, 9J, ZL, VK, VE3, VE7, the Caribbean and the
Mediterranean, and in the 1970s G3FXB came within a few points of
winning. Indeed if UK planning laws allowed the construction of an
antenna farm more nearly like VE3EJ's, I'm sure he would have won.

The further point is that this is a DX contest. The distance from
Nottingham to Edinburgh is in no way comparable with the distance from
Toronto to Vancouver, Perth to Sydney or Dunedin to Auckland.

Special thanks to Les G3VQO for doing a great job with the checking, and
very quickly too. Bob, Les and I have also proposed a number of rule
changes for 2007 which have been accepted by HFCC. The new rules will be
published as soon as the HFCC webmaster is able to get some time to
update the site, but here is a brief summary
1. Packet assisted stations will be able to enter the multi-op category
2. Restructuring of the Restricted Section
3. A new traveller award

There are also a couple of new marketing initiatives, details will also
be published shortly.

73, Dave G4BUO
