Absolutely!!
Please please can we have a category in all contests similar to section
D in the DLDX RTTY ( http://www.sk3bg.se/contest/dldxry.htm ) which is
basically Single operator, 6 hours and simple wire antennas, at last
those of us who don't spend thousands of pounds on their hobby and don't
have limitless time can compete against similar stations.
Sure, keep the big rig section so that the professional amateurs can do
their stuff but more of this kind of section would surely be attractive
to many.
>From the DLDX RTTY web site, the definition of section D:
5) Categories:
(A) Single Operator, multiband
- One person performs all operating and logging functions.
(C) As 5(A), but only dipole or groundplane antennas are permitted.
(D) As 5(C), but the maximum total operating time is six (6) hours.
Off-times (breaks) must be greater than 60 minutes.
